Women development and holistic education policy are the two pillars of New India envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The progress of humanity is incomplete without the empowerment of women,” Modi has repeatedly espoused. A women-led national transformation has been a unique feature under his government.

The new National Education Policy that was disclosed last year proposed changes in higher education and school. The policy is aimed at more future-oriented and job-focused initiatives.

It was launched to universalize education, bring out the capabilities of each student, build capacities and transform the learning landscape.

A major step undertaken during this period is the shift to online education. The PM e-Vidya program ensures writing and reading through the online mode supplementing the existing methods.

Moreover, the One Nation One Digital platform has ensured that the e-content of school study material has been made available in over 32 languages.

Multidisciplinary entrance examinations were held online with a set of regulations and guidelines from the University Grant Commission (UGC).

SWAYAM, a portal created specifically for online learning including over 800 degree and diploma courses has more than 54 lakhs students registered for it.

NISHTHA, the world’s largest integrated teacher training program is geared towards improving school education.

PM Modi’s government has embarked on several measures to better the condition of women across different segments of society.

The Indian government has taken positive steps on the social front towards ensuring that the societal condition of women changes for the better.

On the economic front, through the amendments to existing law, there has been increasing scope for women in terms of opportunities.

The Stand Up India enables every bank branch to grant a loan of ₹ 10 lakh to ₹ 1 crore to women to increase their access to financial capital.

There has been a spike in the presence of women in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. India is striving hard to save the lives of its girl children and enrich them with all its resources through schemes like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.
