Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), has announced the first AWS Women's Demo Week.

This global event, which will be held from November 6 to 10, 2023, aims to link women-led businesses with investors, therefore closing the gender finance gap and empowering female entrepreneurs.

AWS Women's Demo Week will be held in 18 cities worldwide, including New York, London, So Paulo, and Lagos.

This program, sponsored by Ajim Capital, Founderland, GrindstoneXL, and Mogul Millennial, enables female founders to promote their businesses to potential investors, partners, customers, and stakeholders.

"AWS Women's Demo Week highlights the resilience and creativity of female founders, bridging the funding gap and demonstrating that women-led startups deserve investment," said Kathryn Van Nuys, AWS's Global Head of Specialized Startup Segments.

The gender finance gap is still a major issue, with just 2.3% of global venture capital funding coming to women-only created enterprises in 2020, and this ratio is anticipated to decline even lower. AWS Women's Demo Week attempts to address these disparities by forging connections and supporting diversity in the IT sector.

"AWS connected Alt/Finance with a VC who committed a $1 million investment," Alt/Finance CEO and Founder Sharon Obuobi remarked. These are the opportunities made available by AWS."In addition to presenting businesses, AWS provides selected participants with $10,000 in AWS Activate credits, access to technical specialists, and connections to the URF startup ecosystem."

AWS Women's Demo Week is an important step toward a more equitable digital environment, offering a promising chance for female-led businesses to thrive.
