What are the major facets about your expertise as a marketing leader that you want us to highlight through the article?

As an experienced marketer, I figure out revenue growth opportunities for the company aside from our core services. It is because of this that today we have market-leading products such as Cost-it-right – a costing automation and cost control software for automotive OEMs and OEM suppliers and Workshots – Employee time and productivity tracking app that helps manage employees and/or remote team’s performance whether working from office or home.

We utilized work from home and lockdown in figuring out one more solution Profitley for the distribution chain of various Industries. This is a Cloud-based revenue growth app for multi-brand distributors. Customer advocacy is the strongest pull in B2B Marketing. I strongly focus on customer experience and have a dedicated cell with a defined SLA for customer support. 70% of our business is repeat business.

Take us through your early education and priory industry experience that you bring to the table.

After schooling, I joined college for B. Com degree continuing commerce stream. It was during the final year of B. Com that I started thinking about being independent and choose something that helps me build a career and thus I nailed down to do MBA in marketing.

The initial years of my career were in computer hardware sales that largely honed my marketing skills in understanding customer’s perception and behavior, segmentation, targeting, and marketing communication. My keen interest in tech and techenabled inspired me to be a founder member and COO of an omni channel pharmacy startup and later VP -Digital Initiatives of India’s leading and largest funded B2B portal for medical supplies. My varied industry experience helps me strategize and deliver tangible results in my current role.

What are some of the most impactful trends developing in the industry currently?

Every business now realizes the importance of marketing. Marketing has majorly shifted to being performance marketing. It is no more just about building awareness and visibility; it is about delivering remarkable customer experience, generating leads, and growing revenue. In the digitally flooded world, the most impactful trends are Marketing automation, Video marketing, Smart Analytics through the use of technologies such as AI, BI, Big data, Introducing H2H marketing and engagement as differentiators, and considering Customer Experience the first and the foremost.

What Is Your Approach To Leadership?

My leadership style is democratic and transformational. I believe that young minds have disruptive and innovative ideas and are full of creativity and energy. My democratic approach helps me in inspiring and motivating them to pursue what they are best at in accordance with their personality, talent, and liking. I guide and encourage them to shoulder bigger responsibilities, implement pathbreaking ideas and take risks to be a leader tomorrow.

What would your words of advice be for women aspiring to be foray into the field of digital marketing?

LinkedIn report shows 63% growth in marketing jobs in the last 6 months. I feel that marketing roles naturally align with women because they are more expressive and creative by nature. So, work becomes joy, definitely. My advice will also be not to refrain yourselves from leadership positions. You must raise your hands and talk to your managers about the senior opportunities even if it means coming out of your comfort zone.
