Ace batter Shweta Sehrawat is all set to captain the women’s India U-19 team in the five-match home series against New Zealand.
The matches will be held from November 27 to December 6 in Mumbai. The matches are a part of India’s preparation for the inaugural Women’s U-19 World Cup in South Africa which will be held from January 14 to 29.
Shweta is a top-order batter and has led one of the four sides at the Under-19 T20 Challenger Trophy that finished earlier this month. Shweta will be supported by batter Soumya Tiwari who has been named as the vice-captain of the 15-member squad. Soumya scored 107 runs in four innings at the Challenger Trophy, the fourth-best in the competition.
Before the India series New Zealand and West Indies will play two T20s in Mumbai on November 22 and November 24.
