Re Enactus H.R. College Receives National Award for the Best Social Initiative for Women Empowerment

On September 14, 2022, the Nagindas Khandwala College-hosted "Bhavishya Bharat," a national level competition for social initiatives, featured participation from the Enactus Chapter of H.R. College, a registered chapter of Enactus International. 186 colleges from throughout the nation participated in the competition. Enactus H.R. College participants gave presentations on their main projects, "Inaayat" and "Aajeevika," which greatly delighted the program's judges and helped them win the national prize for the best social initiative for women's empowerment.

For the projects it completed, the delegation received a certificate, a cash award, and a trophy.

Enactus H.R. College's flagship social entrepreneurship project, Inaayat, employs rural women to sew reusable sanitary kits that are sold to the student body, with all proceeds going to the women. Similar to this, the student body also launched Aajeevika, a project in which rural women sew imaginatively designed tote bags that are sold by the student body, with all proceeds going directly to the employed women so they may support their livelihood.

Prof. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Principal of H.R. college said, “Social entrepreneurship is an important part of our institution, activities conducted by Enactus HR College has boosted the income of impoverished rural women who need money to sustain their livelihood. It is with great pride I can say that Enactus HR College is showing the whole country what H.R. College is capable of. All student bodies in our institution are regularly encouraged to conduct social entrepreneurship activities so that we can give back to society. As an educational institution we endeavor to boost the social empathy of our students and make them grow into charitable members of society”.

HSNC University, Mumbai's "lead and constituent college" at the moment is H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.
