Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce Government of Telangana said that the need for a Lifecycle approach to ensure that the issues of women are addressed.
Mr Ranjan spoke about the issue of low participation of women in the organised sector at the 7th Edition of the Leadership Conclave organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (II) – Indian Women Network (IWN) with the Theme Impact 2021. For young girls and their parents to continue education, he also emphasised the need for structured counselling sessions in rural areas. Through institutions like Telangana Academy of Skills & Knowledge (TASK), the Telangana government provides support to students of Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns.
To support the entrepreneurial spirit among students and women, the Government supports institutions like T-Hub & WE-Hub. The Security Council looks into matters of safety and security of working women, he said.
Ms Kirthiga Reddy, Former Investment Partner, Softbank urged women to have fun, celebrate and dream big. Ms Reddy reiterated that women should not be afraid to strive for excellence, make unconventional choices, company and colleagues, focus on providing value to customers and career success will follow.
Mr Vagish Dixit, Vice Chairman, CII Telangana & Managing Director, Alpha India Private Limited spoke on support in providing them opportunities to climb the leadership ladder and the need to nurture women.
Ms Deepthi Ravula, CEO, We-Hub, Government of Telangana suggested having a revolving fund and need to handhold and support women entrepreneurs on operational issues.
Ms Purnima Kamble, Chairwoman IWN Telangana & Partner, Fox Mandal & Associates LLP mentioned that policies have to be simple, acceptable and practical. The industry needs to take the lead for the implementation of inclusivity policies and implementation of diversity.
