India Defeat Korea 5-0, Move to Women's Asian Championship Semis

Team India secured a 5-0 win against Korea in its final league match, maintaining its unbeaten streak at the Jharkhand Women's Asian Champions Trophy Ranchi 2023, paving the way for a semi-final rematch.

The knockout games fixed for Saturday will follow the same Thursday's fixtures, featuring China and Japan in the other semifinal and Malaysia and Thailand battling for the fifth spot.

Team Korea had previously grabbed the silver medal at the Asian Games but this time Team India, a top-ranked team, surprised Korea with its aggressive and attacking play, thrashing them on the field.

Team India played unstoppable and relentlessly with intense moves that defeated Korea to regain possession. The pace of the game was entirely controlled by India.

India scored a goal through Salima Tete and Sangita Kumari, securing a 3-0 lead. India continued to dominate the match, scoring twice within a minute to go up 3-0, with Salima and Sangita combining and Navneet Kaur's powerful hit. The finishing touches were given by Vandana Katariya and Neha Goyal.
