Vanathi Srinivasan, national president of the BJP Mahila Morcha, expressed grave concern about the state's discrimination, violence, and atrocities against women.

Vanathi stated at the state unit of Mahila Morcha executive meeting here on Friday that the performance of the AP Women's Commission was inadequate and demanded immediate action by the state government to provide women with all types of security.

Vanathi claimed that despite Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's promise of total prohibition in the state, it was not carried out. She demanded immediate prohibition, claiming that alcohol consumption was the root cause of all atrocities. She claimed that the state government imposed high taxes in the name of welfare schemes, referring to the high price of fuels. She appealed to the BJP cadre to strengthen the party at booth-level.

Supreet Kaur, national general secretary and AP in-charge, stated that the BJP prioritises women's welfare by providing 33% reservation in the party and even ministerial positions to 11 women in the Cabinet. Vanathi Srinivasan, she said, has the distinction of defeating matinee idol Kamal Haassan in Tamil Nadu elections.

Sunil Deodhar, co-in-charge of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, former state president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, Mahila Morcha state unit president B Nirmala Kishore, BJP state vice-president Saranala Malati Rani, and others were also present.
