A 36-person delegation from India left for Nonthaburi, Thailand to compete in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2022, which are planned to begin on November 29. Rising shuttler Unnati Hooda is expected to lead India's challenge.

Asia's Under 15 and Under 17 shuttlers will compete in the famous continental tournament, with the final set taking place on Sunday (December 4).

In the most recent competition, which was held in 2019, Indian players Tasnim Mir and Tara Shah won gold and silver medals in the U-15 women's singles, respectively. A two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic will be followed by the premier continental event.

Through the selection trials, which were held in Hyderabad last month, the players were chosen. The chosen players also took part in a 12-day national camp in Raipur from November 14–25 as part of their tournament preparations. Arsh Mohammad and Sanskar Saraswat, Divyam Arora and Mayank Rana, and the doubles team of Bjorn Jaison and Aatish Sreenivas PV will be India's best bets in the men's U-17 and men's U-15 categories, respectively, of the doubles competition.
