Ragini Rao: Redefining The Space Of Mental Health And Psychology Across Corporate Sector

Ragini Rao
Co-Founder

Childhood traumas/experiences have a significant impact on our personalities as grownups. Many times, people look all fine and camouflage their inner pain but a sensitive and empathic inquiry helps to shed this mask and speak up.

Working with troubled people has been a humbling experience for Ragini Rao (Co-Founder, InfinumGrowth Learning), who leveraged her in-depth industry expertise across the dynamics of Transactional Analysis (TA) and human behavior to lay the foundation of her dreamchild – InfinumGrowth. Understanding individual differences in human behavior has been a fascinating concept for Ragini for as long as she can remember. Commencing her career as a freelance counselor and is probably among the first counselors in India to work with corporates. Having already been exposed to the theory of TA in college briefly, as a practicing counsellor, Ragini decided to delve deeper into the subject as it provides a robust framework to work with various mental health conditions. After qualifying as a Certified Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy through 5 intensive years of rigorous training to complete this course, Ragini became a TSTA - the highest certification possible in the field of TA. Gradually, Ragini got the opportunity to work across clinics/hospitals along with corporate organizations which not only helped her to get a clear insight into the complicated mental disorders that individuals suffer from but also encouraged her to come up with the idea of InfinumGrowth Learning. Ragini engages in an exclusive interaction with the Women Entrepreneur Magazine.

Give us a brief overview of InfinumGrowth Learning. Highlight the distinctiveness of the firm that makes it stand apart in the industry.

At Infinumgrowth, we believe that genuine personal development involves understanding ourselves and our interpersonal relationships as well. As our services are designed to promote this ideology, we have live programs and learning videos on a range of topics to provide self-development learning. We also provide one-to-one online counseling, psychotherapy, and coaching services for individuals to delve deeper into their strengths and limitations. Our training programs and counseling services have a strong influence on the TA framework, a modality that is simple yet profound in its application and used effectively in many countries across the globe. Providing mental health support to individuals is our main objective and we have a team of experienced and certified professionals for all these services.

What are the various roles & responsibilities that you shoulder as the founder of InfinumGrowth Learning?

As the head of our entire personal growth and mental health work, I decide on the kind of programs that are offered, develop content for our learning videos, select and appoint counselors as well as therapists, and so on. I regularly supervise the therapists’ work and guide them on the way forward wherever required. Meanwhile, I am running long-term certificate courses in TA for those wanting to become psychotherapists or use the certification for other professional purposes. Apart from that, I of course work with my Co-Founders in developing our business strategy and reach.

What sort of a real-life transformation do you intend to facilitate for clients through your training?

All of us have emotional wounds that we carry from the past. For some of us, it is manageable while for some others it is pronounced and difficult. Healing happens with love, affection, connection, and compassion for self and the other, in relationships. It is important that each of us find those few or at least one relationship in our life that can provide that. I believe in inviting and facilitating people to fully accept themselves at the core with all their flaws and strengths, and a large part of my work focuses on that.

While working with corporate professionals as clients I invite them to bring awareness to respect and transparency between colleagues and seniors. People are less defensive and open to feedback when they feel safe. Respect, acceptance, openness, genuineness, and authenticity in relationships are principles that can bring a profound transformation in one’s life. Our programs and sessions aim to cater to these segments.

In your opinion what are some of the most significant milestones that you have achieved throughout your professional journey? What has been the driving force behind your success as a business leader?

Becoming a CTA and then a TSTA was the first milestone of my journey. Starting the online work with the launch of InfinumGrowth can be termed my second milestone. Becoming President of the South Asian Association of Transactional Analysts (SAATA) is also an event that gave me immense satisfaction. Conducting programs internationally – Advanced TA programs at Dhaka, TA 101 at Singapore, and Heal your Life at Bali are some of the unforgettable moments of my professional journey so far, that I will always cherish.

The amalgamation of multiple experiences and the changing economic, as well as social environment offered me many new opportunities and possibilities, which can be termed as the driving force for me. Last and not least, my husband’s and co-founder Sridhar Rao zeal to create new businesses and his encouragement for me to tap my potential for the same inspires me to every day to be the best version of myself.

Drawing from your experience as a successful business leader, what would your advice be to young women and girls who also aspire to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?

I am an entrepreneur who has built her business slowly and steadily but I have never thought of myself as a business leader. I would invite young women and girls to take time to understand what aspect of their work they enjoy and are passionate about. They can feel free to make mistakes and learn from them. They could talk to people in the given field and learn from their experiences. I would suggest they ask for help when needed and be collaborative as well as inclusive in their approach. And more importantly, have faith in themselves and their instincts!!
